You get an elegant product at very affordable prices. Our Silk Velvet Mineral Make-up gives you sheer, translucent coverage.....creating a soft-focus optical effect. Oatmeal is known for it's soothing, healing effect on irritated skin. We have added micronized oat flour, providing nurishment and protection. We also add Allantoin which is known for it's soothing and anti-irritating properties. We have tried to make it as easy as we could to pick a shade of foundation that is best suited for you. Silk Velvet Mineral Foundations come in two finishes......"Sheer" and "Satin". We then break it down into shade families of Warm, Cool, and Neutral. Each of these families is broken down into levels 1 through 8.....with 1 being the lightest and 8 being the darkest. How to pick your shade: First decide if you are Warm, Cool, or Neutral. A simplified way to determine which you are goes as follows: Warm - you look best in dark greens, oranges, browns, earth tones, and gold jewelry. Cool - You look best in pinks, pastels, mauves, and silver jewelry. Neutral - You look good in just about any color and in both gold or silver jewelry. Once you have determined if you are Warm, Cool, or Neutral, you should decide how dark or light of foundation you need. Level 1 & 2 are very light. 7 & 8 are very dark. 3, 4, 5, & 6 are medium shades in between. The seasons sometimes cause some of us to need a darker or lighter shade than other times of the year. ie: We might need a darker shade in the summer when we get more sun. It may be helpful to purchase a couple of shades for this reason. Or you might decide that blending two shades creates a better shade for you. To determine the finish best suited for you, please follow these guide lines: Satin Finish: Provides a luminous and "dewey" appearance. This choice is best suited for those with youthful skin and not concerned with lines/wrinkles. Sheer Finish: Provides a translucet finish with light-diffusing properties and excellent coverage. This is a good choice for those of us who wish to minimize the appearance of lines/wrinkles. Be sure to finish off your look with our Silk Velvet Mineral Finishing Powder which gives your mineral make-up a soft-focus finished effect.
